OMEN 15-ax202na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello,

tomorrow I'm going to collect the OMEN 15-ax202na at the pickup point and I need an advice please:

if I take the parcel (still sealed) to an official HP store, could I have 2 x 8 GB benches of ram installed paying the difference of money because giving away the 2 x 4 GB already installed in the laptop?

Is the laptop able to recognise 16 GB of ram in total?

Thank you

HP does not have a program to buy back memory chips. You would have received no credit for them and if the 8 gigs were purchased from an HP Center they would cost an alarming price.

Hi,

I don't know they have RAM on the spot or not, please check with them first and YES your machine supports 16GB of RAM (2 x 8GB).

Regards.

thank you for your answer. The current situation is: I phoned some local stores (found doing a search on this HP website) and I can't find a store who can replace the ram without loosing the warranty. This is quite funny. I have to do it by myself... loosing the warranty.

Companies I called:

Specialist Computer Centre

EAF Supply Chain Limited

Yes probably no store will touch it but if you do it yourself and do not cause damage it will not void the warranty. We have that on good authority.

8 GB 2400 MHz 1.2v DDR4 shared 862398-855

See p. 42 and note they want you to be sure to update to the latest BIOS before increasing memory.

There is a very recently issued BIOS update:

I added some material to my prior post while you were giving me kudos. Check it out and thanks.

Thank you to all the precious answers I've been receiving.

I have now more resources in how replace the ram but there is still an issue: what to do with the untouched 2 x 4 Gb current benches of ram once I replace them? If HP had official local stores I could have changed these 2 for free with a bench of 8 gb and I would buy another bench of 8 Gb. I still have left the parcel intact of my laptop, I collected it 2 hours ago, in order to proof the current ram are brand new in the event I find an official HP store who could sort out this simple but aparently problematic issue.
