Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

 

I'd like to upgrade my notebook (Pavillon g6-2041ex) from 4gb to 8gb memory as I realized there is another slot. But when I try to put the original 4gb RAM into that slot it doesn't work so I'm wondering if it's fake...

My question: Is that possible with my notebook? I searched online but never found anything helpful for my exact product Name.

Yeah you are good for up to 8 gigs. From what I can tell you have intel Core 2d generation so you cannot install 16 gigs.

There are two slots but if the laptop does not come on when you switch the module from one slot to another it is possible you have a bad motherboard i.e. a bad memory slot.

Alright my fault, it does fit and also it seems to work.

 

Another question is if my notebook is deviced for 8gb? I didn't find anything helpful for "g6-2041ex".

 

edit: I only find the "g6-2041si" which can be upgraded up to 16gb, but "ex" is listed nowhere
