RAM Upgrade

I have a HP pavilion DV7 laptop (product id: WW191EA#ABU) with 8GB memeory in 2 slots as per specification. i need to upgrade 16 GB or 12GB RAM, please let me know my device maximum RAM capacity installation and best RAM buying vendors sites. Can i go for 1 slot memory upgrade from 4 to 8 GB - or do we need to put equal RAM capacity on both slots. Advance thanks for your answers.
