When i am using shrink volume option this error is prompting,"The volume you have selected to shrink may be corrupted .Use chkdsk to fix the corruption problem,and then try to shrink the volume."

 

please help me what to do

Hve you tried running chkdsk on it?

To run check disk, you can press Windows + R and then type CMD to open an elevated command prompt.

then type "chkdsk /f driveletter:". If the partition that you are having problem shrinking is 😧 drive, then you should type in "chkdsk /f D:".  

You can also run "chkdsk /r D:". by the way, /f is for fix and /r for recovery.

 

After that, you should be able to shrink volume in Disk Management.

I think the syntax is chkdsk C: /r or chkdsk C: /f...drive letter then switch command. ../r = repair or /f = fix.
