Hi there, I found out a little bit ago that there's an unknown driver by the hardware id of USB\VID_138A&PID_0050&REV_0060 & USB\VID_138A&PID_0050 on my computer. I've downloaded the validity driver that is supposed to fix it but it hasn't fixed it for me. If anyone could give me a different driver download that will work that would be great as its making my computer very slow.
Also, sorry if this gets put in the wrong place, this is the first time using the discussion boards.
Thanks!

My product number is G0T55AV and sp number is 66915.
Information file:
This is not your Driver, that is, the 66915 driver supports fingerprint readers other than the reader built into your computer.
System:
HP ENVY 15t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
I did not find Windows 8 HP Drivers for this system -- there are listed Drivers for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
Driver sp66110.exe is rated for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 -- it may work for Windows 8 as well.
Supported Devices (from sp66110.cva😞
[Devices] USB\VID_138A&PID_0050="Validity Sensor (WBF) (PID=0050)"
- Create a Restore Point before making changes to your computer.
- Download sp66110.exe > save it to your Downloads folder
- Uninstall the sp66915 driver from your Device Manager -- also tick the box to delete the driver.
- Shut down the computer > wait a few seconds > boot and log in
- Install the downloaded 66110 driver
- Shut down the computer > wait a few seconds > boot and log in
If you are using SimplePass,
If you have not yet updated the program,
If you are using Series 8 HP SimplePass (some version of 8.x),
then:
Download and install this latest version:

What is your computer's Product Number ?
Which Driver did you install, that is, what is the "sp*" name of the download?

Thanks so much for your help!
I uninstalled the old driver and did the things you said with the new drivers and I think it worked. I ran the troubleshooter and it said no problems detected.
If someone else comes up, i'll make sure to contact you.
