Upgrade Pavilion al106tx memory

Product Name: Pavilion al106tx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I just bought a new pavilion al106tx with i7 7500u and 4gb ram. Is it possible to upgrade to 12gb RAM? And can I upgrade it myself (will this void the warranty?) or should I ask the shop to do it?

Thanks.

The following is from the Maintenence & Service guide for your notebook.  Yes you can upgrade the memory. No, it will not violate the warranty.

Memory Two customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots
DDR3-1333-MHz single channel support (DDR3-1600 downgrade to DDR3-1333)
Supports 8192-MB of system RAM in the following configurations:

8192-MB (4096-MB×2; not supported on computer models equipped with a 32-
bit operating system)

8192-MB (8192-MB×1; not supported on computer models equipped with a 32-
bit operating system)

 6144-MB (2048-MBx1 + 4096-MB×1; not supported on computer models
equipped with a 32-bit operating system)

4096-MB (2048-MB×2; not supported on computer models equipped with
Windows 7, 32-bit operating system)

4096-MB (4096-MB×1; not supported on computer models equipped with
Windows 7, 32-bit operating system)

2048-MB (2048-MB×1; not supported on computer models equipped with

Re: Upgrade Pavilion al106tx memory

Thanks for the info and your help, Erico... But the back cover quite hard to open.. It seems that I should ask the shop to do the upgrade for me..

Thanks again.
