Hiya, recentrly the hinge on my HP laptop sheared apart along the edge, everything else has been grand and the screen still works except for it not being supported by the hinge and unable to close the lid. I am trying to source a replacement hinge online - and get products which look very similar but do not specify my particular model,
Just wanted to know if the hinge for my model is the same as other HP 15 series'? and if not can i still get the part i need?

From your Service manual parts list:
(5) Hinges (left and right) 749655-001 For use in models without a touch screen 749655-001
And that is the part number in the amazon.com listing you posted so good to go. You can buy that.
Look at pages 39 and 66 for "how to" instructions.
