Hi, I have a DV6 running Win7 & the WiFi has stopped working, is there any other way to turn on the WiFi adapter?

Hello @8lives,

It appears that the wireless has stopped working on your notebook. I will try to assist you with this.

If the wireless is simply "off" on the notebook this can be turned on, two ways. The first is a key (usually f11 or f12, may need to use with FN). The second is to check in Device manager to see if the wireless adapter is listed as disabled. If it is you can right click and enable it.

The issue could also be related to drivers. You can use the HP Support Assistant to check for updates.

You can also try the steps provided in this document: Troubleshooting Your Wireless Network and Internet Connection (Windows 7).

Adding to the document, you can try the following:
Go into device manager > click the + by network adapter > right click the wireless and choose to uninstall > restart the notebook. Windows will reinstall the drivers.

I hope something here can help, please let me know how things go.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

Hi Futoji, I managed to isolate the problem to the Connection Manager software.

Thank you for your input.
