Your laptop came with Intel core processor. There are 2 memory slots, one is already having 4gb stick in it. You can upgrade RAM upto 16gb (two 8gb sticks of exact same configuration , speed and voltage as given in manual) in your system if you've installed Windows 64 bit OS.
HDD can be upgraded to 2.5 inch 7mm SATA SSD. Page 59, 60 shows that it needs major disassembly to reach HDD bay. Get help from certified technician if you're not used to this kind of disassembly.
Create HP Recovery USB using HP Recovery Manager before doing any upgrade.
