I'm getting kernel power related errors in my event viewer. These occur once the laptop hibernates or closes. I ran the 4 hour diagnostic and it is pointing to hard drive with an error code of below. I'm assuming this means my hd is about to crash and it is time to get a new one but I wanted to make sure. Is there not a way to look up the codes??

Hi,
Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char failure id (upper cases) indicates the HDD is failing and need to be replaced. Is it still under warranry ? If Yes, please call HP for a replacement.

No. It just hit 2 years old but thanks for confirming. Was hoping it was something simple before replacing the hd altogether but didn't expect it to be. Thanks again. Will get started moving data off and replacing
