Hi, i would like to increase the storage capacity on my laptop, i allready have a 166g ssd in my hp folio 9470m, and i was was wondering if i could add a  hhd drive? im choosing this rather than another ssd because they are more in my price range.

 

If adding a hhd is possible what kind can i use? 

 

would this do?

Here is the Manual:

See p. 42. There is only a single bay for a 2.5 inch SATA SSD or hard drive so if you have a 2.5 inch SATA SSD you cannot add a 2.5 inch hard drive. However, there is a slot for an mSATA mSSD module. 

 

Before we can help much we have to know what kind of drive is already installed. It possibly could be either type of SSD and the answer is different, depending.

Great cheers, is there any way to check without taking the hard drive cover off? If not ill have a look today and get back later.

Sure the device manager under "Disk Drives" and we can tell by the description what kind it is.

Thanks for that, i have an intelssdc2bf180a4h. i had also opened it up and found that i have a 2.5 inch drive in there and space for an msata. are all msata drive compatible?
