hp Pavilion dv 6000
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have an old hp pavilion dv 6000, I recently upgraded to windows 7 and everything is working fine but I would like to make hardware upgrades as well.

I wish to upgrade to maximum capacity, specifically : processor, display adapter, hard drive, and wireless network adapter.

If anyone can provide me with a list of best known hardware compatible with my system that would be awesome, I will also be open to any additional hardware upgrade suggestions if anyone has any to offer

Hi,

Two things you won't be able to upgrade: display adapter and wireless network adapter.

(a) display adapter: we can't upgrade over 90% of laptops including yours,

(b) wireless network adapter: your machine was built before mid-2014, the whitelist prevents you to upgrade wireless card.

Now, you have 2 items to upgrade (may be 3): hard drive and processor (CPU) (and may be RAM)

(a) HDD: any 2.5" HDD or even SSD with 9.5mm or less will do. SSD is more expensive but faster. For HHD, please select the one which has faster RPM (7200RPM), big cache (bigger is better). There are many on the following list including SSD's:

(b) For CPU, please use page 5-69 of the following manual to buy the right part from HP. Please don't ask me why you have to buy from HP.
