Here is some selected information from the Service Manual that answers your questions;
1 or 2 customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots (depending on model) 2 slots: DDR3L-1600MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)
2 slots: DDR3L-1600MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations: ● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)
Yours is a "Core Processor" (i5) so you have 2 slots and can install 2 x 8 gigs of DDR3L-1600 laptop memory.
HP recommended 8 gig module:
Memory module (PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz): 8 GB 693374-005
Kingston sells this memory as compatible:
However, memory upgrade is possibly considered an "Authorized Service Center only" procedure (the Manual is inconsistent on this) and is not easy to do in any event. It would also potentially negate your warranty, but that is not 100% certain, either. Here is the Manual and the memory installation is all the way at p. 75. It would require motherboard removal, let's just say.
