Hello.
I'd like to upgrade my Pavilion Gaming 15-ak002nl with an m.2 SSD. Unfortunately, I can not find the answer:
Is my laptop compatible with m.2 SSD?
I'd like to buy this one:
Greetings,

Yes you can. Here is the Service Manual:
See p. 39 for removal of back cover.

The M.2 SSD you ask about is the proper SATA-III size and configuration. It need the B + M (3 prong) type 2280 size, which the Evo 850 is.
Post back with any more questions.

It's not a capacity limit. It's just the biggest HP offers. The only parts mentioned in the Manual are ones that HP will ship with the laptop if ordered. In the interest of full disclosure there have occasionally been compatibility glitches with HP laptops and M.2 disks where that model did not ship with an M.2 from the factory. Like all upgrade projects this is bit of a guerilla operation...results do vary but if I thought there were a significant risk we would not be discussing it.
