Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

hello!
i have the hp-15-r127na (hp k8m96ea) and i want to upgrade the ram. Based on your website,
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00820047
i searched on crusial website and i found the following compatible ram module,
http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compaq-15-%28intel-series%29/CT5681757 with code "CT5681757".

In my local stores i find the following ram module,
Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600MHz (BLS4G3N169ES4CEU),
which has the same name but deferent code. Will it be compatible? Please advice me responsible.

Thank you.

Yes.

You should be able to order a single 4GB compatible Crucial memory module online from a vendor.

I certainly would hesitate to do business with a store that said what you were told.  Consider having them upgrade it for you. That gives them the responsibility and the risk.

Hello

Please look at your unit specs :  http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04507365

The unit processor supports upto 8GB MAX DDR3L 1333 technically.

 http://ark.intel.com/products/82103/Intel-Celeron-Processor-N2840-1M-Cache-up-to-2_58-GHz

So any brand/make which is  DDR3L 1600/1333 will work fine with your PC.

NOTECrucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600MHz (BLS4G3N169ES4CEU) WILL WORK FINE

That is not listed as a compatible model.

Purchase the one that Crucial sells as guaranteed compatible.  Install memory modules as identical pairs.

Do not install a module that is not absolutely identical to the one already installed. That is unless you don't mind it not booting up at all.

Installing a memory module that has a faster bus speed will not make memory access any faster.

Thank you both for your reply!

The motherboard of my laptop has only one avaliable memory slot with 2GB ram module. I want to replace it with 4GB ram module. Unfortunatelly in my country (Greece) there isn't avaliable the recomended code numbers from Crusial. I can find the same names but deferent code numbers.

For example,

recomended from Crusial,

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compaq-15-%28intel-series%29/CT5681757 (name: Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600 SODIMM, code number: CT5681757).

avaliable in my country,

http://www.skroutz.gr/s/4028630/Crucial-Ballistix-Sport-4GB-DDR3-1600MHz-BLS4G3N169ES4CEU.html  (name: Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600MHz, code number: BLS4G3N169ES4CEU).

Coming in contact with a local store they told me in case of incompatibility i can't return the module. So i guess it's better to look for abroad.
