Hi,

I recently bought an HP ENVY Notebook, and I updated my windows edition to Windows 10.

I noticed 2 weeks ago that my battery is not working anymore. It is not charging : Its says "plugged in, charging" but its not charging.

now my battery is empty, (its says 3%) and my "new" laptop , who is only 2 months, does not turn on unless it is plugged in.

Do you have a solution for my problem ??

ps: I tried to uninstall and reinstall the battery drivers from device manger, but nothing happenned !!

Thank you for your help !!

I only needed part of the post by Mumbodog   to fix the problem, it was not necessary to mess with the acpi device drivers, this is what I did.

Shutdown
Remove battery
Connect AC
Startup

My laptop started up fine with just AC power plugged in.

I used it for a bit then decided to try plugging the battery in whilst it was running. It worked fine, the battery was recognised and started charging. So my solution to this issue would be :-

Shutdown
Remove battery
Connect AC
Startup
Wait till PC is up and running
Insert battery
