if i replaced the optical drive with an ssd using dvd caddy can i use this ssd as the boot drive & the 1ry hdd as a just for storage drive??

Hi,
Sorry to say this is not going to work and no point to doing that because the controller of the ODD is much slower. The option is to replace the HDD with SSD then use the old HDD on ODD bay to store data.
