When I closed my laptop today, the silver back came away from black border around screen on the lower left corner by tne hinge.

I understand that the silver backing is separating from the black display frame in the lower left corner by the hinge on your Envy notebook. As this is a hardware issue, please contact HP Support for service options. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support .
