need to know if i can upgrade my current hdd of 1tb to 2tb
the current one is 5400rpm
please suggest ... also how can i clone my hdd to that 2tb if it is possible

Yes you can do it. 2 TB laptop drives are available but I believe they are all 5400 rpm speed. They make 7200 rpm 1 TB laptop drives. Any 2.5 inch wide and 9.5 or 7 mm thick SATA drive will work.
There are numerous ways to clone, but you should assume you will need a usb to SATA adapter and some kind of software. I use Acronis True Image Home but it costs money. Clonezilla is free and there are others, as well. Cloning from a smaller to a larger drive is easy. Going the other direction such as going from a 1 TB HDD down to a 256 SSD is where it gets tricky.
