I grasp that you are considering upgrading your processor. Here is a link to the Compaq Presario CQ61 Notebook PC HP G61 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note chapter 3, page 4, item 12 for the recommended replacement processors for your notebook. I hope this helped.
