16 Gb ram in Hp Envy 15 inch - 1067nr

Hi,

 

The specification for laptop HP Envy 15(inch) - 1067nr  is available at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01910207&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en...

 

This lapop has a processor - Intel Core i7-720QM Processor

 

And specification says laptop can support upto 16 GB

 

Look at processor specification from Intel at http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43122&code=Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+i7-720QM+Processor+%286M+C...

 

The processor specification says it can support maximum of 8GB RAM but the laptop specification says it can support 16GB of ram. Whats true?

 

Did HP engineers miss out something ?

Intel mentioned about 'Max Memory Size' which is associated with a single memory stick of specific size. There are RAM sticks available for 8GBs too. And another property is # of memory channels = 2... so total of 16GB RAM size supported by the processor. Each RAM stick can be of 8GB Size.
