8gb-->16gb ram possible? [HP Pavilion dv7-6045sg]

Hi I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6045sg with 8gb Ram installed.

My Question; is it possible to upgrade to 16gb or does my laptop don't support this configuration.

According to the specifications, your system cannot support 16GB RAM.

Hi, Jonas:

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

Please see chapter 1, page 6 for the memory info.

Since your notebook product specs indicate it has the i7-2630QM processor, your notebook can support 2 x 8 GB of memory for a total of 16 GB.

 

If it had an AMD processor, the memory would have been limited to a max of 8 GB.
