I bought a new compaq cq40-327 laptop 3 days back and I got my wireless internet connection today. I was trying to upgrade the softwares and firmware when I did somwething really stupid . I downloaded the BIOS upgrade for my laptop which on the hp site was listed as F.24 and accidentaly installed it only to know that my current version was the latest F.31. Is there someway to get back the new F.31 BIOS upgrade (a rollback or an alternate link to download because the current version on the hp website is F.24)?

Thank you for the reply . I haven't checked for any issues after that, I will post back here if I find something. Also, when can I expect the hp website to update the download links, do they do it periodically or once in a while.

Hi ampere, sorry for the delay. I bought my laptop on 26th of last month. When I checked BIOS in my computer back then, I think it was version F.31 but I am not sure. Then I accidentaly did a downgrade to the latest version at the HP site at that time which was F.24. Now since they updated their website I applied the F.30 upgrade. I didn't experience any problems because of all the version changes. I suggest you create a new thread as someone here might be able to help you. In that thread include your laptops model and also when and where you are seeing the green flickering line. It might not even be a defective one just some upgrade might fix it. Any way post a new thread. I will also try to help you . And one more thing, its not related to this, but it might save you from trouble in the future. I accidentaly lost data on my recovery partition and my windows vista installation too(now using my kubuntu Linux), so I suggest you create a set of discovery discs if you haven't done so. Hoping to see your new thread with all the above mentioned details.
