I recently got a HP g7-1150us laptop computer with 4gb ram. I plan to upgrade the ram by adding another 4gb ram module. Which one is the best one? Is the laptop dual channel capable? I can't find any where which 4gb ram module comes stock?
Any experienced input would be welcome.....thanks.

That model only has 2 memory slots, most likely has 2x2gb modules installed, and yes it is dual channel.
it uses DDR3 10600 (1333 mhz) ram
I would buy a 8gb kit (2X4gb modules) This is the max memory that can be installed in your model
I tend to buy name brand memory that is on sale at Fry's electronics, I watch the ads for sales, but I have a store close by, you may not.
Last brand I bought for this type memory was G.SKILL, works just fine in both my HP notebooks, looks like Newegg has a good price on it and free shipping.

Thank you Mumbodog, this information helps a lot!! I'm kind of partial to Kingston in the ram arena, but gskil has a good reputation too.
Thanks for the memory retailer links. We don't have a Frys close by, so I'll be looking at one of the online stores.
