Brand New direct from HP DV6 touchpad doesn't work!

I just got my wifes new laptop two days ago a DV6 with the 160 SSD. When I booted it up and followed the instructions, double tapped to turn on the touch pad, nothing happened. This is a brand new laptop bought directly from HP. Now I'm having regrets about buying the DV6. I see why they are trying to give them away on Facebook.
I installed new drivers, still not working. I restored it to factory setting and still nothing. The touchpad started working but the the keyboard would stop working, shortly after that the touch pad would stop working. I would close the screen and open it back up log back in, everything works for about 10 minutes then the touchpad would stop working again.
I may return it and just get a Macbook for the wife and put win7 on it.
