I purchased a HP Pavilion dv8000z notebook in 2006 (with a 160 GB 5400 RPM Dual Hard Drive). The computer itself is in fine condition, however, the screen broke recently and cannot be fixed.
What is my best option? It seems if I were to purchase a new screen it would cost me around $250. Should I sell the unit as is ($400-$500?) and buy a new laptop altogether or should I simply replace the screen because the computer works fine?
Thanks!
PS - The notebook also includes: AMD Turion(TM) 64 ML-40 (2.2GHz/1MB L2 Cache); 128MB ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M w/Hypermemory(TM); 1.0GB DDR SDRAM (2x512MB); and an extra 8 Cell Lithium Ion battery
