Hi i have a compaq cq60 111em laptop and it have its original 2GHz single core celeron 575 cpu and for me its looks too slow. and i want to know which cpu i can put in it i want dual core cpu but i want better and faster cpu to put in. can somebody say me which cpu i can put in it? Thanks.

A list of compatible processors and the replacement procedure can be found starting on Page 85 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.

Hi, I have just completed a processor upgrade on my laptop CQ60-111EM from the stock 2ghz celeron to a core2duo 2ghz T5750 processor. It is not for the faint hearted as your laptop has to be totally dismantled. I wasn't expecting it to work but as I got the processor for nothing I thought I would give it a try. The laptop came on immediately and all I had to do was set the time and date in the bios. It is a worthwhile upgrade as processors can be bought from Ebay for as little as £8.00p. Now to get Windows 7 on it and get rid of vista!
