Can I put a Blu-ray drive in DV6500 line, model dv6575us ?

I already did this the last week. I put a BC-5500A unit in the same machine that you have and works fine. Also you can use a UJ-120. I was testing this unit into a C500 and a 6715b and works perfectly.

I am planning to buy the UJ-120.  I have the HP tx2500z, Vista x64 Home Premium.  What software will work on this configuration to play blu-ray discs?

Hi, I just bought a dv7 laptop (don't remember the number off the top of my head) but it didn't come with a blu-ray.  I had a dv5 in August but something happened and HP said it was irreparable, so I got store credit where I bought it and ended up getting the dv7.  The selling point for me was that the dv5 had the blu-ray player in it and I was hoping to get the blu-ray for the dv7, but it appears that HP doesn't sell laptops with blu-ray anymore.

Do you know where/if I can get a blu-ray drive for the dv7 from HP?  I'm assuming they're somewhat hurting from the economy which is why they don't sell them anymore, but that's why I bought it in the first place!!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
