I have run into this message several times on several HP's before, but just cannot seem to get it fixed this time.
This message is coming from V6101us on every boot I make. I have read and read and tried every fix posted I could find on the web. It has the latest phoenix BIOS F42. The wireless card has not been changed, it is the same one that it came with to the best of my knowledge.
There is a easy work around to this, pull out the card and buy a USB wireless adapter. That is not solving the problem, and I am not ready to give in yet. Let me know what to try next.
Thanx =)

The V6000 is a close first cousin of the dv6000 series that had all the trouble with the motherboards and if I recall the unsupported wifi card message is one of the first symptoms that the motherboard is beginning its swan song. Yours is the AMD processor, right?

It is the AMD CPU. As far as trouble with the boards, yes they had a mass of problems. This one's primary problem was the Nvidia chip. I have already had it reflowed, so this is corrected.
As far as the message, it pops up as soon as the the system is ready to load the OS. Pop out the wireless card, reboot, and all is normal.
