I bought this CQ40-339TU one years ago, for past one year there is no problem with the notebook , then suddenly this few days when I use it for around a hours my notebook shutdown by itself, I try to switch on back , sometimes can turn on back , but then sometimes it cant .. Is it a virus or motherboad ?

I, like others, created an account simple to say Thank You. I thought I was out a computer or at least $100 for repair. You people are sincerely great people, you profit nothing from your advice yet take the time to help others. HP would charge 70$/hr just to talk to you and they make plenty of profits. I was having the same problem and gave this tip a try and it works!!!! Saves us buying a new computer or having to get help for like $50 fee >.> Thank you for the great tip and now my keyboard works!!!!!!!

Hi i am also having problems turning on my cq60 just get the three lights flashing 3 times (power , lightning bolt & hdd) also the light on the side for the external power wont come on at all now , battery was fully charged earlier though.

 Hoping  this is just a faulty power adaptor but not 100% sure, also if it is anybody know the best place to get a replacement???

I'm having the same problem. If the power cord is plugged in and the battery is out, there is no response when I press power. With the battery in and cord unplugged, the lightening bolt blinks, but nothing blinks near caps or numlock and I don't hear any fans. Suggestions?
