Compaq F502EA

Hi,

The keyboard of my F502EA recently had champagne accidentally spilt on it (NOT BY ME !!). The machine was turned off straight away, and left to dry. 24 hours later it would start and boot into Windows Vista ok, and the desktop came up fine although the keyboard was u/s - only a few keys worked. So I switched it off and left it to dry some more and now it won't start at all. When the ON button is pressed it lights up briefly whilst the cd drive kicks in, and then it just cuts out. There is obviously some electrical safety feature, preventing the computer from booting. Any help will be much appreciated

Re: Compaq F502EA

well one thing you might try is doing a hard rest...(pull the battery and the AC plug, press the power button for about 30 seconds, release and put the battery in and plug in the AC, press power button and see if it comes on.......if no you may have to reset Bios back to default....at turn on press f10 and whem the screen comes up press f9 to reset back to defaults press exit and save. it will restart and see if it comes up good luck
