DV6000 faulty mother board

soon after buying my $1500 DV6000, my wireless card went out.

Then my hard disk failed.

Now not even two years oldthe mother board went out and I am out of warranty

The lap top used to get so hot, I could not touch the bottom of it.

Either the DV6000 is a bad design or I had a lemon.  In either case HP should not ask for $400 to fix the issue.

This was the last time I spent money on HP products... no more

Re: DV6000 faulty mother board

I am beyond mad with my DV2415nr lap top! Been replaced twice on the third go around it was deemed a lemon. The computer is not even two years old. Luckly I purchased extra coverage, but of course that does not cover EVERYTHING I lost because a back up disk can't be used to load on a new lap top. Thanks alot HP for your piece of crap!

Re: DV6000 faulty mother board

OMG, HP is going down the toilet! my laptop HP Dv6000 went down in June 2009 but my "extended" warranty was over in May 2009 and HP will not honor it because it fell out of the warranty. HP claims they sent an Email to everyone (fishy) but if we didn't get it we should have checked our Junk Mail because for sure that's where the annoucement went too.....WHAT? this is a product recall! this should have been advertised on the TV using Media to spread the news not some Junk mail proned annoucement! Now there is 1,000's of customers left out in the cold because HP played the "fine printing" game with it's customers. I always thought HP was as american as apple pie, a household name you can trust and count on... now I wish I would have went with that Dell laptop that I was originally looking at but now I am left with a confused and blinking laptop with zero response and a bill of $279 to repair it or purchase another laptop says the agent, "I hope this doesn't turn you away from buying HP products" he said, I could have snatched him through the phone! So there solution is Pay for a mother board they installed into your laptop that was faulty with the BIOS F39 update or purchase another laptop that might do the samething in the future and HP leaves you out in the cold. If this is something you are going through please send emails to the CEO, the Board of Directors and the Corporate Compliance, if this don't work try the better business bureau, it's just not me and together our noise can be heard.  I have seen youtube, yahoo, google etc etc etc with nothing but blogs regarding this issue.

Re: DV6000 faulty mother board

When you register or contact hp a privacy question is asked if we are able to contact you by email. If you said no to that or never registered your notebook then you would not have been informed of the service enhancement on applicable models.

Re: DV6000 faulty mother board

They have all my information, I get everything they send. Putting notices to the side.... that's not the issue here, the issue is that there is a faulty series of laptops floating out there with BAD mother boards. I have had my mother board fixed already and it's silly to have the mother board replaced 3 times! I have a Dell that is 8 yrs old though it's not as fast or updated it has never given me this issue, HP needs to own up to their product, when I speak to a agent I have to verify my address, email and phone number so YOU can't say they didn't have the information on all there customers! HP might as well as placed the annoucement on a bathroom stall in hopes that all the customers would read it. This is a Class action law suit waiting to happen. Try googling HP pavilion Dv6000, you will find thousands of customers with issues with the mother board, wireless, and monitor issues... I have all three! Its that BIOS F39 update that sent my laptop straight to hedes in a hand basket. I will continue with my efforts to have HP repair this laptop, I am still paying for it and so shall they...

Re: DV6000 faulty mother board

Don't feel bad, HP is screwing me too. My dv6000 died, I sent it back to hp. They returned it to me broken with a paper that says they changed the motherboard. I got on the horn to get solution, ship it back to them, and they accuse me of causing water damage. Totally bogus. I am getting upset over this company ripping me off. I'm fighting this with the better business buruea. If enough of us get together maybe we can get some compensation.
