Hi,

I would like to upgrade the existing Western Digital WD1200BEVS hard drive to another Western Digital hard drive.  The laptop I have is a Pavillion DV6500t.

Re: DV6500t hard drive upgrade

You can buy any SATA 2.5" drive for your computer. For example this one -  Western-Digital-320GB-Scorpio-WD3200BEKT.

It's depend of you - how big drive you need.

Re: DV6500t hard drive upgrade

Shreyans - yes, you can use that drive. Partitions doesn't show by its own. You need to reinstall Windows (or any OS) or use recovery DVD.

Re: DV6500t hard drive upgrade

Hi Shreyans, yes it will work.  Just remove the adapter from the old drive and attach it to the new drive.

Re: DV6500t hard drive upgrade

Hi,

I also have a question regarding my hard drive.

What brands are supported by my laptop?

I also want to upgrade the size from the original 160 GB to possibly a 320 or 500 GB ?

I have a dv6626us.

Re: DV6500t hard drive upgrade

Hi KHarris, from what I could dig up on your computer, it also has a SATA drive in it.  I don't know if HP gave you a NON SATA drive option, you should confirm the type of drive you have.

If you do have a SATA drive in your machine, any brand of HD will work in your machine.

Good luck and have fun with your upgrade.
