DVD-rw prob

I changed the dvd 2 days ago with a dvd-rw on a hp500

 

Reinstalled win (4 times in 1 day).

 

After the win installation, restart the laptop and it's not opening (stay blocked with the start img with F10 and F12).

When i take the dvd off the laptop win it's opening normally.

 

I can't find in device manager the dvd/cd to un/re-install it.

 

 

what to do?

Go to BIOS

 

Check if the DVD drive is listed as 1st boot device in advanced tab >> boot option...

 

if it is .. then change it to 2nd boot device or disable it from there

My son bought me this DVD Optical drive for Xmas. (it is a DVD555s Read/Writable drive with Lightscribe) The first one didnt work, so he got HP to send another one. It did work when I first got it. I hadnt used it again until today and it does not power up when I plug it in. Its as if it has no power or is not getting power. I've plugged it in several outlets and still nothing. Can you help me? I like it and want to use it.
