Desktop PC unable to display anything on computer screen.

I've bought a 7300GS for my friend's HP A1737C-B Desktop, he bought the computer back in 2006.  We put it in, set the bios option "primary video" to PCI-E and nothing shows up on screen when we boot up with the VGA cord connected from the graphics card to the monitor.  We've tried the other bios option "PCI" and "On-Board" and the board refuses to use the video card!  I've cleared the pci-e slot for dust and cleaned the pci-e contacts, but we get the same results, computer turns on, computer monitor says "no signal" even though the video card fan starts works.  It uses a A1737C-LA NodusM3-GL8E motherboard.  The specification page for his desktop is here.

We've also tried booting up with the card in but using the onboard graphics, it works just fine, but the problem still persists, we even trid installing the drivers for the card whilst using onboard graphics.  The driver installation states that we have no NVIDIA card installed.  I looked in device manager and found that there were several items that were unknown, each one was has the name PCI in it.  So the computer detects something, but I'm guessing the board must be the problem.

I've been trying to get that this problem for months now, so I'll try to answer as much questions about this problem to help get this fixed.

Thanks.

it sounds like you need to back into bios after you remove the video card and reset it back to default mode...it should put back to factory settings....then install the video card into the PCI Express slot turn the computer on and let it find the new hardware..when it finds it go to this site and click on downloads and drivers follow the instructions and install the latest drivers...you might try option2......hope this helps
