I have a Probook 4520s with the following spec -
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz
Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB
Graphics Intel(R) HD Graphics, 1696 MB Total available graphics memory
Detail graphics info-
Display adapter type: Intel(R) HD Graphics
Total available graphics memory: 1696 MB
Dedicated graphics memory: 64 MB
Dedicated system memory: 0 MB
Shared system memory: 1632 MB
Display adapter driver version: 8.15.10.2189
Primary monitor resolution: 1366x768
DirectX version: DirectX 10
This info taken from Win7's performance Information tool
I saw 1GB ATI Radeon 6730 Graphics in a HP DV6 laptop. Probably ATI readon will perform better. But why? Intel Graphics memory is 1.6GB where ATI has 1GB.

Hi,
There are hundreds models of dv6 series laptops each model has different configuration vs other models. The first one in your note uses SHARED system RAM, as indicated, it has only 64Mb. The second one uses DEDICATED RAM. Normally dedicated graphics cards are much better than onboard cards.
Regards.

Hi,
Dedicated ram is directly available to the video video adapter ( ie the ram chips are physically on the same board as the video chip ) and so the speed at which it can be accessed is far greater than the speed at which the video adapter can access the System ram ( your notebooks ram ) and this is the main reason for the difference in performance.

DP-K

It is a common error to equate video memory with video performance. This was true in 1998 when you had 16 meg graphics cards and 32 meg graphics cards, but it is misleading now. Think of a video card as a pump, pumping pixels. The memory is the tank, full of pixels. The pump runs at a certain number of cycles per second and pulls in and pumps out pixels through a certain sized pipe. The stats you really want to know are not how big is the tank, but how fast does the pump run and how big of a pipe is it pumping through. Core clock, memory clock and memory bus width. If the pump is a little whimpy thing it does not need a very big tank to hold the pixels. Onboard graphics cards may say they have extraordinary amounts of memory, but they never use anywhere close to the theoretical maximum. Clock speeds on dedicated video cards now exceed 1 ghz at the high end and onboard graphics is more in the 350-400 mhz range. Not to mention as stated above the memory used for integrated/onboard is system memory that has to do double duty.

I got the following spec of Intel Graphics -
Memory Type : -1352GB GDDR3
GPU Frequency : 500.01MHz
Memory Frequency GPU : 1066.67MHz
