Dv4 battery?? what can it be?

So starting like a week or so my computer started turn it off. It's been working fine but out of nowhere it just turns of. then i try turning it on right after it turns off and when its turning back on it turn off...then i plug it in to the outlet and it works perfectly fine with out turning off....what can this be? Can the battery be going bad?
