Hi everyone, I have a HP dv6 -2120TX. I recently had a funny noise coming from my laptop so I did the usual clean and what not and this fixed the problem as the fan was rubbing onto the sitlde of the casing. Anyway when I put it all back together and booted it up error 902 came up saying there was a problem with my cooling fan! Funny thing is the fan was running just fine, spinning around quite happily so I tried several more times to boot it back up but the same error keeps coming up! Can anyone help?!?!?!

On the power connector from the fan to the system board is a 3rd wire to indicate whether the fan is spinning or not. Check out the connector to see if it's correctly connected.

Thanks mate! I took it all apart and the yellow cord attached to the actual fan (not the motherboard) had snapped off! All good now
