Before replacing a laptop fan, make sure the blades are moving freely. While I blew out the dust with my compressor without removing the keyboard, that doesn't always work. I ended up having to remove the keyboard to gain access to the fan blades, manually moving the blades until they freed up, then blowing out any extra dust again from the top side. Only this freed up the fan for normal operation. Recommend removing the keyboard about once a year and blowing out the dust as just blowing out the dust from the bottom doesn't always work.
