Finding external hard drive

I can't seem to find my external hard drive when I plug it in. I know it's somewhere cause when I click on the "eject hardware" icon it shows up, but I can't find it anywhere else.

It should show in "Computer" as a new drive and have a letter assigned to it. Click on it to open and drag items in and out.

 In most cases your external hard drive caddy will have a light on it and it should be on when it's plugged in.
