Graphics Card upgrade?

Hey, I was just wonering if it was possible to upgrade the graphics card on my HP PAvillion dv6000 laptop.  I have been using it to play WoW for a while now but am getting tired of the jumpy action xD

Thanks for your time !

Re: Graphics Card upgrade?

It's usually impossible to upgrade the GFX capabilities on any laptop (unless specfically created for gaming, Alienware) because unlike a Desktop PC there isn't usually a card - it's usually just a single GPU chip with a heat sink on rather than the full set of gubbins you'd find on a card you'd buy for your PC tower.

Re: Graphics Card upgrade?

I've looked and there are USB & Firewire port graphic cards for your Notebook, but all those will run slower than you need.

There are some more promising ones in the PCI slot but they cost so much you are better off buying a new Notebook with a good gaming Graphics chip and the right processor and memory.

Sad but true I think the cheapest option I saw out there was around $800.00, all that for something you plug into your notebook and then have to plug into a monitor.

If you want to be that stationary then buy a gaming desktop.

Re: Graphics Card upgrade?

asus laptops have replaceable graphics cards. they all have mxm slots, just some do a reversed standard, asus specific board , others are fully mxm compliant.
