Re: HDX16 Quick Launch Button Issue

I've tried uninstalling the quick launch program and I went into MSCONFIG and services and shut off the quick launch. It helps it a little bit but it still happens. I think it's a design flaw. We should file a you know what againest HP.

Re: HDX16 Quick Launch Button Issue

I got mine 1 month ago, had problems getting the quick launch buttons to work, the only 2 that work consistently are the mute and WiFi buttons. My MAIN problem is with the optical drive - it has trouble copying data discs, heats up, warps the discs until they drag in the drive. Just installed a new drive from HP, sam thing. Bought the Best Buy extended warranty so brought it to them for diagnoses/repair, they called me 3 days later saying they cannot work on thsi model and offered me a swap with a compatible new computer, any brand. After reading several of these threads, my mind is made up, as soon as the new Windows 7 computers hit the store I am going in for an exchange. Probably Toshiba. I've had Gateways, Dells, Panasonics, Hps, and Toshibas. The only one that did not fail was a Toshiba.

Re: HDX16 Quick Launch Button Issue

Hi All,

I have got an HDX x16 1350EL.

I have a problem with bass/treble button. It can't switch between bass and treble. Actually, it doesn't work everytime.

It is a hardware problem or a software one? Did enyone resolve the problem?

Re: HDX16 Quick Launch Button Issue

I sent out a complaint through the better business bureau about this issue and the issue with the screen being scratched when the laptop screen is down. HP has some major issues with this laptop. Everyone that has this problem should write to the Better Business Bureau and also if possible your Attorney General.

[ Edited ]

Yup, my HDX16 1310EA has just started doing this the last week or so and its really annoying.

HP Support were as useless as always and told me to reinstall the wireless driver which i have done.

I also run a full copy of Windows 7 from MDSN and they tried to blame that.

I have them coming to collect it next week but i see little point in them trying to 'repair' it if its a known issue.

The Eject button doesnt work, the bass treble doesnt work. Volume is ok but the constant wireless disconnecting and it turning from blue to orange is annoying.

I shall call them tomorrow and let them know about this thread.

Hi, your problem (also mine :-( ) is marked "solved" - but there is no solution at all - or do you have one? In the thread there is none???

Re: HDX16 Quick Launch Button Issue

Hey everyone!  I wrote earlier and am STILL having this issue!!  I am so frustrated right now and am calling HP tomorrow.  As I write this, I have seen the WLAN Disabled message about 3 freaking times and the treble has, as usual, readjusted itself.  While this stupid laptop seems to be possessed, I highly doubt that it is.....  I am a college student, and tonight, I lost my internet connection during a timed online quiz...  It was VERY inconvenient and I am highly upset about this.  I have been waiting for a solution, but have not found one and I see that almost every day there is someone new posting about the same issue.  I am very angry with this product and will post an update on any info I receive from HP tomorrow when I call them and raise hell.
