Hello, all!
I just bought the latest HP DV7 and I love it....exept I can't right-click using the touch pad. I know that there is a button on the keypad, but I want to be able to right click using the touchpad also. Is there somewhere specific I haveto configure it? I'm running Windows7 Home Premium Edition and have tried to configure through Device management, but there simply isn't an option for configuration. Please help mewthany information! thank you in advance!

Thank you for your speedy reply, sir...
It is a Synaptics touchpad on the new Pavillion dv7 (640GB HDD, 6GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon, Intel Core i5, Win7 Home Premium)

Hi,
Go to windows Control Panel and open Mouse. Click the Device Settings tab and then click the Settings button. Open up Tapping and open up Tap Zones. Left click once on Tap Zones and put a tick in the box next to 'Enable Tap Zones'. Then left click once on either Bottom left Action or Top Left Action. You should now be able to left click once on 'Secondary Click' in the box to the upper right. Then just click Apply to save the change and click Ok. You should now find a single tap to the top left or top right ( depending on which you selected ) will act as a right click.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
DP-K

Great Suggestion, David
it is a little different in Windows7, i went to Control Panel, then in the search input 'mouse' and from there was able to see the changes, however, there wasn't an 'enable' for right clicking, you set it for 'secondary function' or something like that.
Nonetheless, it was a bust, I am still unable to rightclick when utilizing the touchpad. Is there a way to uninstall the driver, then reinstall it?
Any other suggestions are welcome as well! :^)

Hi,
I have the same question. I would like to use the right-click directly on my touchpad.
With my previous laptop, the synaptic touchpad allowed me to set actions to each corner of the pad (including right-click).
With my new hp laptop dv6-6c90ef, it seems this option is not available anymore (while it still is a synaptic touchpad).
Do I have to update the software or something?
Regards,
