Does HP think their customers are STUPID? That repsonse is ridiculous.
The panel does not show the color gamut properly and it is NOT working properly. I do not believe any firmware or software will address the issue. A panel replacement is probably the only fix possible.
It currently is impossible for the Envy 15 IPS screen to show red... I bet HP will come out and say we all are color blind...

Showing a picture of your TV or screen next to your HP computer won't demonstrate anything, because the gamut of TVs is typically very different from the target sRGB of this panel (they typically have +10% over sRGB, which means that colors are more vivid -- red is farther from "orange", green is richer, farther from "yellow", blue is deeper, closer to "violet" instead of "sky blue"). If there is really a problem with this panel not covering the gamut it is advertised for, then I fear there is nothing to do, because the gamut is determined by the combination of backlight unit + color filters on the LCD. The red color filter was probably chosen closer to orange because white LEDs emit few light in red areas (and more as we approach yellow), so choosing an orangeish red allows for brighter red. If they didn't do it, the red would be "redder", but darker, which would be a problem too (global blueish tone, poor reds/oranges).
