Im stuck between buying the Ultrabook HP Envy with the 128gb SSD and the HP Pavillion dv6t with 1T Harddrive with 5400 rpm i believe. In the long run which one will be perfect for a college student and which one will have the better speed/performance after 3-4years. Thanks guys ![]()
Btw the hp pavillion is 8gb memory with i7 third gen and the envy spectre is 4gb memory with i5 third gen

Hi,
People are moving away from HDD's now and 5400rpm is TOO slow. I would go for a SSD or buy the machine which has 1TB of HDD (if cheaper) and put in a bigger (capacity) SSD by myself.
Regards.

Thanks for the reply. If i buy the dv6t with
- 750GB (5,400rpm) SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
- 32GB mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache
Would you think it would work better than the regular 1T of 5400 rpm

Hi,
Yes that why we have to pay more. Also depending on your applications you may also see very little difference in performance. I normally check price/performance ratio before jump to the bandwagon.
Good luck.
