HP EliteBook 8540p RAM

Hi,

I have EliteBook 8540p with dual-core processor. It has two RAM slots. One has 4GB of RAM and the other is empty. I bought an extra Kingston DDR3 1333 Mhz 4GB of RAM in order to upgrage to 8GB and install Windows 7 64-bit. However, when I install the RAM and turn on the computer, the screen goes blank with CAPS-LOCK and NUM-LOCK blinking. Then I tried with two identical Kingston RAMs but no luck. What is the problem ?

Thanks.

Re: HP EliteBook 8540p RAM

Hi,

This is a very reliable source, please check the characteristics of the Kingston RAM and this:

Most likely you have wrong RAM.

Regards.
