HP HDX-X16 HDD Noises

Hi guys,

I bought this new HDX-X16 about 5 days ago. On the first day, turning on the new laptop for setting up my user information. I notice some grainy noises coming from the left hand palm rest.

It does the noise when the 3rd LED light blinks which is the HDD activities. I have no clue where are those hardware parts located since I refuse to open and to avoid warrantee void issue.

Reason I ask here to see if anyone here owns HDX series either 16 or 18 inch one has the same noise. My HDD is a FUJITSU MHZ2320BH G2.

It's this normal? I defragmented my HDD already on the second day and it still does the noise. Should I return it to the shop for refund or replacement? I don't want a HDD failure or a detective HDD.

I did HDD Smart scan and everything is "OK" and also disc scan for error. I see no problems.

Thanks for reply and confirmation. I was curious, maybe some HDD are made to be noisier... than my old laptop one...
