HP HDX X18T 1100CTO Premium Notebook PC will just suddenly turn off completely.

HP HDX  X18T 1100CTO Premium Notebook PC Product # FW314AV OS Vista 32 bit  machine will sudenly just shut down completely. No blue screen on anything just black and all lights off. Does not show a bad shutdown when restarted.

Please try to upgrade your system BIOS to the latest version.

Also please make sure you give your unit a good cleaning.  A clogged fan and heatsink can cause an abnormal shutdown from overheating.

You will not need to open it up to clean out the vents and fan

You will need a can of compressed air.

Thank you, I will try this. If it doesn't solve the problem does this mean I may need a new fan? I would probably have to contact HP to find a service tech in my area, right?
