HP HDX x16t-1200 - Fingerprint reader installed but not working

I have an HP HDX x16t-1200 laptop running Windows 7 x64.  I have updated the the fingerprint reader driver to 2.1.0.2 and I have updated the digitalPersona software to version 4.11.3826.   The fingerprint reader shows correctly in the device manager and the digitalPersona software recognizes the reader.  However, when I go to setup my fingerprints, nothing happens.  I swipe my finger over the reader and nothing is recognized.  I get no feedback from the system at all.

 

Would there be any other reason this would not be working even though both Windows and digitalPersona recognize the reader?
