HP Mini 210 - 1010NR How to switch from TV monitor back to Laptop monitor?

I used VGA cables to watch some movies on a external monitor. But when switched back to the computer monitor and disconnect the VGA cable the computer monitor goes black. I then plug the VGA cable back in and the monitor works properly. How can I correct this so I don't have to carry VGA cables everywhere I go?

The system is operating on Windows 7.

Hi,

When having a screen

• Right click a blank space on desktop
• Select Personalize
• Select Display
• Select Change Display settings, you should see 2 screens 1 & 2
• Select 1 as main/primary screen and click Apply/Ok

OK, I switched to "mobile pc display" from screen configurations as mentioned "number 1".  I click OK and unplug the VGA cable and still the laptop screen goes black.  I can still move the mouse cause when I plug the VGA cable back in and I clicked on something or right clicked a blank space on the desktop it shows.  I have also tried hitting the windows button with "P".  Which prompts a "disconnect projector", "duplicate", and "computer only".  I have tried all 3 scenarios and still when I unplug the VGA cable the screen turns black.
